WHO WE ARE
Development Alliance for Literacy Education and Training (DALET) is a company limited by guarantee registered in Ghana under the Companies Act (1963), Act 179 and the activities of DALET non - governmental organization (NGO) fall under the exempt organizations provisions of Section 97 of the Income Tax Act 2015, Act 896 due to fact that activities and services of DALET is for the public good and charitable in nature.
DALET is recognized and regulated by the Department of Social Welfare and the Ghana Revenue Authority. Our intermediary office in Seattle, Washington State is a registered charity and its activities fall under IRS tax exempt 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. It was established to increase the quantity and quality of the work we do for the well-being of the poorest families which have;
- Orphans and Vulnerable Children
- Severely Disabled Children
- The Aged/Elderly (65 years and above) who have children depending on them in the poorest communities we serve.
In Ghana, DALET operates from its DALET School Projects Office in Larbie, adjacent the New
Apostlic Church, Off Papaase No.1 Bawjuase -Kasoa Road in the Awutu Senya West District, Central
Region of Ghana.
Our task is to advocate for the child right to basic education or to access quality education in
alignment with Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs #10 & # 4 (Quality Education and Reduced
Inequalities).
DALET provides relief services and programs directly in support of Rural Community Development,
Education and Training, Health and Nutrition with the support of our donors and volunteers to
aid most-in-need people.

HOW IT STARTED
Compelled by his compassion, Mr. Samuel Gyamfi Asiedu, resigned from a financial institution job and proceeded to engage the community leaders, churches, friends and family members to support children in the Larbie -Djan rural community. Stakeholder's engagements and consensus building began in October 2015. By April 18, 2016, we announced our school enrollment process, and on the 20th of April, the same year, 2016, the learning center which was built for preschool activities was named DALET School Project. As DALET grows, our commitment and promise to help more people is reinforced with the hope that many organizations and individuals feel the impact.

We are glad to inform you that DALET School Project have received the attention of the media in Ghana, national and international recognition through the Ghana@60 and Coca-Cola Young Leaders Awards in March 2017.

The Daily Graphic celebrated the founder of DALET School Project amongst sixty (60) young business and social service leaders on Monday, 13th March, 2017. In addition, Cris Coleman, a retired and a former award-winning journalist in the U.S, after his own verifications carried a story on Facebook about DALET founder, in Coleman's own writings, saying:
